Gourmet route from Sittard to Sweikhuizen

This walking route takes you through the green belt around Sittard. First you can walk your legs in Stadspark Sittard. There was a swamp here for centuries, but in the period between 1921 and 1933 it was transformed into a park as part of job creation. You walk through a landscape with sunbathing areas, trees, shrubs and flower beds. The park bears the characteristics of both the English and French park styles. After walking past a pond, you walk through the Geleenbeek valley. You will also pass the edge of the Absbroekbos. At Brasserie Abshoven you can enjoy a pit stop, after which you walk past the green fields through the hills. You pass the Watersley Estate, after which you walk back to Buitenplaats De Vief Heringe via Stadspark Sittard.
