Get on your bike and explore the surroundings of the Rhederlaag, Doesburg and Duiven recreational area. Initially, there were two large meanders of the IJssel at the location of Rhederlaag. Your cycling route starts at Recreatiepark De Veerstal, uniquely located between the Rhederlaag water sports area and De Hoge Veluwe National Park. First you drive through Velp. The village has a number of sights such as Biljoen Castle. Then you cycle to Giesbeek. Bingerden Estate is one of the oldest preserved country estates in the Netherlands; in 970 it is already mentioned as a fortified farm with a moat. You then cycle towards cozy Duiven, where you can stop at IJssalon La Calamita for a delicious ice cream. Then you cycle back towards the Vale Pass, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature along the way.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
