Description
The Southwest Fryslân National Landscape has a size of 51,420 hectares and is one of the twenty National Landscapes in the Netherlands. The area can be divided into three parts: The IJsselmeer coast, Gaasterland and the peat area with southwestern Frisian lakes. In the wooded Gaasterland you will find many beautiful plants. The route starts at Rijsterbosch. This B&B is located on the edge of the old Rijsterbos, near the IJsselmeer. It is a beautiful location to enjoy nature in peace and relax. Before you end the bike tour, it is nice to take a look at the air guard watchtower at Huningspaed in Oudemirdum. The top of the tower rises approximately 25 meters above the NAP!
