Description
The National Landscape Southwest Friesland has a size of 51420 hectares and is one of the twenty National Landscapes that the Netherlands is rich in. The area can be divided into three parts: The IJsselmeer coast, Gaasterland and the peat area with southwestern Frisian lakes. In the wooded Gaasterland you will find many beautiful plants. Before you end the bike ride, it is nice to take a look at the lookout tower of the air patrol at the Huningspaed in Oudemirdum. The top of the tower protrudes approximately 25 meters above the NAP!
