Description
The Southwest Fryslân National Landscape has a size of 51420 hectares and is one of the twenty National Landscapes in the Netherlands. The area can be divided into three parts: the IJsselmeer coast, Gaasterland and the peat area with southwestern Frisian lakes. In the wooded Gaasterland you will find many beautiful plants. The route starts at Rijsterbosch. This B&B is located on the edge of the old Rijsterbos, near the IJsselmeer. It is a beautiful location to enjoy nature in peace and relax. It is nice to take a look at the lookout tower of the air guard at the Huningspaed in Oudemirdum before you finish the bike ride. The top of the tower protrudes about 25 meters above NAP!
