It is not for nothing that the Land van Maas en Waal was sung about by Boudewijn de Groot in his 1967 classic. Get on the saddle and come experience the charm and history of this beautiful region for yourself.
Megen
Between the Maas and Waal you cycle through a mosaic of romantic farms, simple dike houses, fruit orchards, meadows and of course water, lots and lots of water. While driving on low-traffic roads, you can get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the peace and natural beauty. That's relaxing! You cross the Maas to Brabant. A trip that is rewarded with a visit to the picturesque old Megen.
Batenburg
On the other side of the river you cycle through Appeltern. In Batenburg you can see the Oude Sint-Victorkerk, which has its origins in the Middle Ages. You can also take a look at the ruins of Kasteel Batenburg: one of the oldest castles in Gelderland. Further on you pass an eighteenth-century corn mill. In Hernen, thanks to the castle, among other things, you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by. Just before the end point, you can relax on the cozy terrace of Hill\\\'s.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
