Fairytale castle route around Amerongen

During this bike tour you will see the best of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Drifting sand areas, vast heathlands, dense forests and fens. You will find it all here. Pine martens, red bats and special ground beetles live between the trees of the Amerongse and Zuilensteinse forests and a large variety of plants grow in this area. There is also plenty to see on this route in terms of cultural history. After about 25 kilometers you will arrive at the fairytale Residence Rhenen. Do you fancy a tasty meal? Then take a seat in the atmospheric restaurant that is located in the former Orangery. The restaurant is located in the middle of the lush nature. When it is time to continue the tour, you head for Amerongen. On the south side of this place you will pass Amerongen Castle, which has existed since 1286.
