Description

Explore the largest nature reserve in Landschap Overijssel and get to know heathlands, deciduous forests, springs and drifting sand plains. The starting point of this route is Lemele, on the edge of the Lemelerberg nature reserve. You cycle through the woods to Ommen, where Eerde Castle is located. The castle first appeared in 1227, as the House of Eerde. You cycle around the Regge through an idyllic landscape. You drive through the Reggedal towards Hellendoorn. Take a look at the De Wippe mill, a flour mill that was built in 1821. The mill is named after the so-called 'Wippenbelt' on which the mill is built. Then you cycle over and around the Hellendoornse Berg, a hill of 40 meters high. After a break at Recreatiebedrijf De Huttert, you cycle smoothly back to your starting point.
