Along the green Oude Maas Heinenoord, Hoogvliet and Spijkenisse

Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at'y Land van Wale. Then you dream your way along the banks of the river Maas, while you cycle through the green area between Barendrecht and Spijkenisse. You can see all kinds of ships passing by here. During the tour you will also cycle to Van Rhoon Castle. This keep was built in 1492, on the spot where an older castle was claimed by the water of the St. Elizabeth's flood in 1421. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful English garden, a baroque garden and the Kasteelbos. Not only the gardens are beautiful to see, because the castle was restored during the Bentinck period. It was provided with windows in Empire style, and the back of the castle has nice stepped gables and turrets.
