Along the green Oude Maas Heinenoord, Hoogvliet and Spijkenisse

Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at'y Land van Wale. Then you dream away along the banks of the River Maas, while cycling through the green area between Barendrecht and Spijkenisse. You see all kinds of ships passing by here. During the tour you also cycle to Van Rhoon Castle. This keep was built in 1492, on the spot where an older castle was claimed by the waters of the St. Elizabeth's Flood in 1421. Surrounding the castle is a beautiful English garden, a Baroque garden and the Castle Forest. Not only the gardens are beautiful to see, because the castle was restored during the Bentinck period. It was fitted with Empire style windows, and the back of the castle has nice stepped gables and turrets.
