Description

This cycling route leads you through the rolling forests around Kootwijk. You will soon pass the beautiful sheepfolds of Hoog-Buurlo, in a small settlement among the deciduous trees of the Ugchelse Bos. You cycle further and cross the heathlands and drifting sand areas of the Harskampse Zand. This takes you to the Lana Mariana mill, a stone belt mill that was built in 1739. Via the old mill you reach a listening point of the Liberation Route: L56: The Battle of Otterlo. After an overnight stay at De Houtkamp you cycle into the Hoge Veluwe National Park. Please note: you have to pay an entrance fee here. Hunting lodge St. Hubertus is complete with interior and gardens designed in 1914 by Berlage. The last sight on the route is a municipal monument of Apeldoorn: the Ruitersmolen.
