Description
Your route starts at Restaurant Zalencentrum In de Tonne in Hellendoorn, after which the nearby Hellendoornse Berg is named. The hill is 40 meters high and became known for the amusement park of the same name. It is located in the larger nature reserve of the Sallandse Heuvelrug, but does not officially belong to the national park. Flour mill De Wippe was built in 1921 and milled on wind power for sixteen years. Now a general practitioner and an observatory are located near and in the mill. You will also come across a large Sheepfold. A glass partition wall has been placed especially for the sheep that the cage offers shelter to, so that the sheep are not bothered by the people who visit the cage. You can also see two burial mounds from the Neolithic or Bronze Age.
