Your route starts at Brasserie 't Blaakven. Weert is beautifully situated in a green setting. You'll cycle through the cross-border Kempen-Broek landscape, where you can explore a variety of nature reserves. You'll pass the De IJzeren Man recreation area, where you can learn more about the unique flora and fauna in the Grenspark at the Nature and Environment Centre. A little later, you'll cycle straight through the Grenspark and discover beautiful nature reserves such as the Laurabossen. The Tungelerwallen is a beautiful woodland with heathland and drifting sands. Woodlarks, tree pipits, and stonechats breed here. Weert is known for its many windmills: along the way, you'll pass the St. Anna windmill, for example. The Broekmolen is an undershot windmill and belongs to an estate that also includes a large farm. The watermill is fed by the Aabeek stream.
