The Kop van Voorne is one of the most dynamic areas in the Netherlands. Nowhere can the past, present and future be found so close together. In its illustrious maritime past, the fortified town of Hellevoetsluis was the home port of naval heroes such as Michiel de Ruyter and Piet Heijn. From Hellevoetsluis you cycle along the dunes to the De Duinhuisjes open-air museum. The houses give a picture of life in 1900. Due to Voorne's location by the sea and the presence of inland lakes, water sports are a popular activity here. From the terrace of Pavilion Stormvogel you can always enjoy water sports enthusiasts on the Brielse Meer. The historic city center that commemorates the Water Beggars, who expelled Alva on April 1, 1572. The fortifications of Brielle are among the best preserved fortifications in the Netherlands.
