The green route from Amsterdam North to the Zaanse Schans

From the center of Amsterdam you can take the ferry to the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam North in no time. This route starts from here.

The route takes you along the typical windmills through this area. You start at the NDSM square and cycle through the working-class neighborhoods of Amsterdam Noord past the d\\\\'Admiraal windmill into the rural core of Landsmeer. Landsmeer is a vast ribbon village located in a green and water-rich environment, with the beautiful monumental Twiske Mill in the recreation area Het Twiske. Feast your eyes along the way and possibly stop for photos with typical Dutch vastness and cultural history. You continue cycling through Oostzaan past Bliksteenmolen de Vlijt and you can admire the Windjager windmill in the Oostzanerveld (breeding ground of many meadow birds) and you head towards the famous Zaanse Schans.
