Walking through the forest is pure relaxation. This route takes you through the Amerong forests, one of the oldest forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Some Scots pines date from 1770. The forest owes its age to the lords of the Amerongen Castle in the Amerongse Bovenpolder. They had the forest built to be able to hunt. You start at Bicycle Café de Proloog. Cycling is central here, with here and there a nod to another sport, music or a good book. After your walk you can relax here for a snack and a drink. The forest through which you walk during this route is located on the 69 meter high Amerongse Berg: the highest point of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
