Tuitjenhorn and Warmenhuizen walking route

You start at Bolletjescafé de Klok. With this route you make two loops around Warmenhuizen. First you walk through some beautiful streets in Warmenhuizen. It is also nice to walk along the edge of the village. On the Dorpsstraat of Tuitjenhorn you will see some beautiful bell jar farms. You walk through the polders on quiet paths. The second loop takes you to the Westfriese Omringdijk. Friesland seems far away, but this part of North Holland is traditionally called West Friesland. This monumental dike meanders around several wheels, dike breaches from long ago. In the polder you will see a lookout tower close to junction 64. Here are the remains of the thirteenth-century Nuwendoorn Castle. The foundations were only rediscovered in 1948.
