Walking route Tuitjenhorn and Warmenhuizen

You start at Bolpjescafé de Klok. With this route you make two loops around Warmenhuizen. First you walk through a few beautiful streets in Warmenhuizen. It is also nice to walk along the edge of the village. On the Dorpsstraat of Tuitjenhorn you can see some beautiful farmhouses. You walk through the polders on quiet paths. The second loop takes you to the West Frisian Omringdijk. Friesland seems far away, but this part of North Holland has traditionally been called West Friesland. This monumental dike meanders around several wheels, dike breaches from long ago. In the polder you will see a watchtower close to junction 64. Here are the remains of the thirteenth-century Castle Nuwendoorn. The foundations were only rediscovered in 1948.
