Description
Beautiful, relatively short cycle route through forest and heathland with good, mostly asphalted cycle paths. Start and finish at the ISVW estate with ample parking and the option to rent (electric) bicycles and recumbent bicycles. You cycle past Soesterberg towards Austerlitz to Maarn and via Woudenberg you arrive back in Leusden. Along the way there are catering establishments in Maarn (approx. 20 km from the starting point) and in Woudenberg (between junctions 15 and 93).
Please note: From cycle junction 6, follow cycle junction 89. Just before you cross the provincial road N226, turn left (Slappedel). At the end of this road at the roundabout, cross over towards Woudenberg and you will see the bicycle signs with bicycle junction 93. You will pass bicycle junction 15, but this is (unfortunately) not indicated by signs from this direction. When you cycle on the Griftdijk, the route turns left via 93. If you cycle straight ahead for a short distance (dead end) you will find the Eldorado tea house on the left. An excellent address for a nice cup of coffee or tea with delicious home-baked cakes!
