Description

The small village of Lunteren is beautifully situated on the edge of the Luntersche Buurtbosch. The forest was created around 1890 thanks to the estate of notary Van den Ham. Take the train and then hit the road. From Lunteren train station you walk to the Goudsberg. Climb this mountain to enjoy a beautiful view of the Gelderse Valley. Then you walk to De Grote Zandgroeve via the Timeline stairs from the Goudsberg. Occasionally the path slopes, so you get beautiful vistas. Sand and gravel used to be excavated by hand in De Grote Zandgroeve. This was transported by horse and wagon to collection depots. The second part of the route takes you further through the woods of the Veluwe to Lunteren train station.
