The first Grolsch beer was brewed in this brewery museum in 1615. Learn more about the history of the brewery and the beer here. It is possible to take an extensive tour that gives you insight into the brewing process and the history of Grolsch. For example, you will see a film about the life of Peter Kuijper, the guild master of the Brewers' Guild in Groenlo in 1676 and the owner of the Grolsch brewery. Thus history is told by the master brewer himself. You will see the film in the vaulted cellar, exactly the place where the first Grolsch beer was brewed. You will also visit a well, the source that Peter Kuijper uses to get water. In the winter, ice was chopped from the Groenlo canal to keep the beer cool in the summer.
