Description
In the beautiful flat landscape of the Westhoek, Heuvelland stands out. In the first place with the well-known Kemmelberg, which with its 156 meters is one of the highest hills in Flanders. Aren't you that muscular bicycle tornado that whizzes over mountain and valley as if it were nothing? Don't worry: now that the electric bicycle is becoming more and more popular, Heuvelland is gradually becoming a Walhalla for recreational cyclists as well. You can already rent an electric bicycle in many places.
The cycle route starts at the visitor center'Het Heuvelland\\\'. Here you can find tourist information and various exhibitions about the region. Then you cycle over the hills on car-free roads and discover 9 of the 14 wine domains in Heuvelland. Signs in the shape of wine bottles explain the domain, the grapes and the wines.
