You start this varied cycling day at the Molenplaat. Originally this was a drying place in the Oosterschelde, now it is an overgrown nature reserve. From the quay you then look out over the Markiezaatsmeer. After the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea this is the largest wetland in the Netherlands. Via Woensdrecht you go to Hoogerheide. At Het Raedthuys you can get off for a drink and a bite to eat, before you cycle to Mattemburgh. Many pine trees grow on this estate, although you will also see oaks and birches. Further on you can visit the visitor centre De Kraaijenberg to learn more about the Markiezaatsmeer. From the quay you have a beautiful view over the Binnenschelde. Finally you cycle through Bergen op Zoom. Here you will see, among other things, the fourteenth-century Gevangenpoort, the oldest building in the city.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
