Walking through the forest near Posterholt

During this walk of over 5 kilometers you walk around Landal Aerwinkel in the wooded area of Posterholt.

Fairytale castle
Along the way you will pass Happiness Spot 5 Roerdalen: The Aerdmannetjes of Aerwinkel Castle. This romantic 19th-century castle (built in 1854 by architect Pierre Cuypers) is located in an English landscaped garden. Some beech, oak and maple trees are 150 years old. It seems to be the ideal domain for good-natured and helpful Aerdmen. With a little imagination you can see traces of it everywhere. Past the gate, turn right into the forest (towards junction 38). Walk to the water and the bridges for a beautiful view of the castle. You get a real fairytale feeling with the beautiful nature and the turrets of the castle.

Munningsbos
During the route you walk through the Minningsbos, a nature reserve between Montfort and Posterhot. It is a mainly dry area with sand dunes on which coniferous trees have been planted. The area is part of the De Meinweg National Park. The Munningsbos is a forest area where the Vlootbeek runs along. Typical for the Vlootbeek valley is the tranquility in combination with a beautiful view of the landscape.
