Walking route Harderwijk and the Veluwe

After a comfortable night at Restaurant & Hotel Monopole, you can walk along the Wolderwijd. It is almost impossible to imagine that until a century ago this was the coastline of the turbulent Zuiderzee! You have a beautiful view over the rippling water, and on the other side you can see the forests of Flevoland. After a while you walk into the Harderwijkse Bos. What you immediately notice here: the tranquility! Breathe deeply and enjoy the fresh forest air. A little later you walk through the Beekhuizerzand, a slightly sloping drifting sand area. Especially on sunny days, the dried-out, almost gold-colored sandy landscape seems to be on another planet. The last part of the route takes you through the old heart of Harderwijk. What a beautiful town!
