Tour of Alkmaar, Heiloo and the North Holland Dune Reserve

From Bergen aan Zee you can ride your legs in the North Holland Dune Reserve. Enjoy the fresh air and tranquility. Then you cycle to Alkmaar. In the city center you will see many monumental buildings. On the edge of the Heilooërbos you will pass the Pulpit Rock, an old moraine. According to tradition, the monk Willibrordus preached here centuries ago to spread Christianity. Further on you pass through Limmen and make a tour through the polders around Castricum. You drive through the North Holland Dune Reserve again, after which you end up in Egmond aan den Hoef. Here you drive past the former Kasteel Egmond, the building was demolished in 1798. The old castle chapel from 1431 is still there. You cycle back through the dunes to Fietsverhuurbergenaanzee.nl.
