I like to open up the most beautiful routes I have made to other enthusiasts. This route is definitely one of those, if you make it on a beautiful autumn day like me, then it really is a great tour.
The route actually starts in Gorssel, but is of course easy to do from Deventer station! You can really experience the East or the Achterhoek during this tour. No endlessly long roads, always something on the horizon where the route goes. Farmlands and forests, you cycle on asphalt and many semi-paved roads are sometimes a bit sandy after this year's dry period. During the last part you will see the change to a more expansive landscape and you will cycle over river dikes. Various villages along the way where you can take a break, such as Vorden and Zelhem.
More than 100 kilometers on asphalt and many semi-paved roads, so less good for the racing bike. In my case the ferry across the Lower Rhine was blocked, but following the river you soon arrive in Arnhem where you can follow the cycle route towards the center.
