Camp country

Kamperland is the largest centre on the island of Noord-Beveland. Over the years, it has grown from an agricultural village into a tourist village. Water sports enthusiasts in particular like to come here. Campen used to be on the site of the current village. The parish disappeared in the waves in the 16th century due to various floods. When Noord-Beveland was reclaimed, the current Kamperland came into being.

The Scotsman
From Kamperland you can easily walk to the marina located on the Veerse Meer. Kamperland is located directly on the Veerse Meer, opposite the city of Veere. The old agricultural port of Kamperland has been converted into a modern marina. Along Ruiterplaat you walk north towards De Schotsman. This is a former sandbank that dried up after the Veerse Gat was closed off in 1961. In addition to open terrain with grassland, mudflats and dunes, the nature reserve consists of mixed forest. A pleasant environment to walk in. There is a chance that you will spot deer or even a fox. There are certainly enough birds. The insect fauna is also very diverse.
