Description
On Goeree-Overflakkee you will find a surprising number of beautiful nature reserves. This route takes you through the dunes west of Ouddorp. Put on your sturdy shoes and get a breath of fresh air. It is a carefree walk on the paved path, while you look out over the wide surroundings. After a while you walk into the dunes. On one side you look out over the sea, on the left you see the Lighthouse Westhoofd from 1950 in the distance. Around junctions 15 and 17 you have a view of the bird-rich Westhoofd Valley. Many special plants, such as orchids, grow in this moist dune valley. A herd of cows graze to keep the area open.
