Cycling through Coevorden and surroundings

The route starts with a coffee and something tasty at Pannenkoekenboerderij De Ganzenhoeve. This cozy catering location is located in the middle of the centuries-old Groote Scheere Estate with its thatched farms and beautiful cultural landscape. Further on you will see the Anermolen, a thatched corn mill from 1864. Then you drive through some peat colonies, such as De Krim and Nieuw Moscou. You also cycle through the woods of the Schoonhoven Recreation Area. It is wonderfully quiet here. Wachtum is an old esdorp, where you will see De Hoop, a flour mill from 1894. Dalen also has some sights, such as De Benthe: a flour mill from 1814. The historic center of Coevorden is worth a visit. Cycling along the city canal, you will still recognize the star shape that the former fortress once had.
