Walking in Noord-Beveland

Walking and Zeeland go perfectly together. So relax completely during this lovely walk of over 8 kilometers across the Noord-Beveland peninsula of Zeeland.

North Beveland
The starting point of this walking route is in Kamperland, in the north of Noord-Beveland. The origins of Noord-Beveland have a capricious history of reclamations, storm surges, dike breaks and dike falls. The individual islands were already inhabited from the year 1000 and the first dikes were constructed. Until then, people often lived on high salt marshes and mounds and after the first reclamations, residential areas with buildings emerged. Until 1960, Noord-Beveland was only accessible by boat. Nowadays there are good connections to the mainland via famous buildings such as the Zeeland Bridge and the Oosterscheldekering.

Island feeling
Located between the North Sea, Oosterschelde National Park and the Veerse Meer, you get the real island feeling in Noord-Beveland. The kilometre-long beach offers space for walkers, bathers and water sports enthusiasts. Along the way you walk past the Hogehoeve farm shop in Kamperland. Here you can find vegetables, fruit and potatoes from our own cultivation. In the store you will find Zeeland regional products. A nice stop on the walking route! You can take a lovely walk through the Zeeland polder and here and there you will come across windmills.

Along the harbour
The last part of the walk you walk along the water. Now that's fun! You also pass the Roompot Marina marina. Here you have a beautiful view over the water and the boats that are moored there. On Sophia Boulevard you can enjoy the salty sea air and the fresh wind in your hair.
