Round Bocholt and Kaulille in Belgium

This cycle route runs through the Netherlands and Belgium: the most beautiful of two countries! During this route you will get to know the beautiful village of Bocholt in the Limburg Kempen.

Historic Bocholt
The bike tour starts at the passers-by harbour, at junction 211 in Bocholt. Bocholt is a pearl in the Limburg Kempen. The town is home to a rich history that you can still see in some beautiful monumental buildings. In the outlying area there are many nature reserves that belong to Grenspark Kempen-Broek, such as Sint-Maartensheide, De Luysen and Smeetshof. They make Bocholt a paradise for cyclists, hikers and horse riders.

Border Park Kempen-Broek 
After you have left Bocholt, you cycle towards the Dutch border. You cycle through the cross-border nature reserve Kempen-Broek, which lies on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. A beautiful piece of nature to cycle through. You will pass the areas of St Maartensheide & De Luysen, De Kempen, Smeetshof and Lozerheide. The rugged character of Lozerheide gives nature free rein. This incredibly rich deciduous forest offers many assets to plants and animals. In addition to the impressive fauna and flora described in the introduction, Lozerheide is also an attraction for various breeding birds. Of the 130 species of breeding birds in Limburg, 80 occur here.

Round Caulille
Via the Kempenstraat you cycle along the canal towards the small village of Lozen. You then cycle around the village of Kaulille. There are many forests in this area, often planted on former heaths. In addition, there are also many agricultural areas and meadows. You cycle back to the starting point via the edge of Bocholt.
