Description
Fancy a breath of fresh air along the Markermeer? Then this route is perfect for you. The beautiful old cities of Hoorn and Enkhuizen invite you to get off your bike and take a look around. The route starts at Van der Valk Hotel Restaurant Hoorn, where you can first enjoy a cup of coffee and apple pie. Or stay overnight, there is so much to discover in the area! From Hoorn you cycle via Schellinkhout, where you will see typical farmhouses, along the Markermeer. Once part of the wild Zuiderzee, the water has now been tamed and is dammed by a dike from Enkhuizen to Lelystad. Via the historic Enkhuizen you cycle back to Hoorn.
