Description

Landgoed Schovenhorst was founded in 1848. The walk introduces you to natural beauty, such as in the arboretum. You will also pass the 40 meter high Bostoren.

Pinetum
From Brasserie Schovenhorst you walk first to the Kleine Pinetum, further on you pass through the Grote Pinetum. Both tree gardens were created on the initiative of the founder of the estate, mr. JH Schober. He collected seeds from temperate coniferous trees and grew them in his nurseries. In the tree gardens you can admire beautiful specimens of, among others, the Chinese water cypress and Californian torreya.

Arboretum
Then you walk to the Josina Park, which was built in 1929. You will see dwarf conifers here. Further on is the Bostoren. The climb is 235 steps long, you can buy entrance tickets at € 4 in advance at the brasserie. From the top you have a wide view. Finally, you walk through the arboretum that was created in 1936. You can also see special types of trees here. At the end of the walk you can enjoy a delicious meal at Brasserie Schovenhorst.
