The silence on the Veluwe

The route starts at the Schovenhorst Estate. Here you can first go to Brasserie Schovenhorst for a delicious meal. First you drive through the Sprielderbos, one of the most beautiful and oldest forests in the Netherlands. You will have no trouble forgetting the everyday routine here. After a while you drive through Garderen, an agricultural enclave in the middle of nature. Further on you drive across the Houtdorperveld. What views! In the Leuvenumse Bos you can enjoy the alternation between deciduous and coniferous forests. A little later you will pass through the Beekhuizerzand, a slightly sloping drifting sand area. Especially on sunny days, the dried-out, almost gold-colored sandy landscape seems to be on another planet. Via Putten you drive back to Brasserie Schovenhorst.
