Walking route through IJsselstein

IJsselstein owes its name to the Hollandse IJssel and originated as a settlement near IJsselstein Castle. The center of IJsselstein has great cultural-historical value. The contours have remained virtually unchanged since the Middle Ages and the regular street pattern also dates from the Middle Ages. The inner city is surrounded by the city moat and a small part of the city walls. An eye-catcher in the city center is the Sint Nicolaas Basilica from 1887. Via Boveneind Zuidzijde you can walk out of IJsselstein, straight into nature. Here you can relax completely when you walk along the canal. You can walk through the city along the Hollandsche IJssel.
