In The Hague you will not only find a rich cultural history, but also a surprising amount of nature. This route combines both into a wonderfully relaxing experience.
South Park
From Visrestaurant De Dagvisser you drive to the Scheveningse Bosjes, a nature reserve that dates back to 1400 and enjoys a protected cityscape. Then it's time for a good dose of Dutch heritage: you drive through the old center of The Hague! Here you see one stately building after another. Most are old, but the new construction is also worth seeing. The monumental Zuiderpark was constructed in the interwar period and is considered the first Dutch public park.
Westland
In the Westland you drive through beautiful villages such as Kwintsheul, Honselersdijk and Naaldwijk. In the polders you will of course see greenhouses, but also a surprising amount of natural beauty. It's wonderful to travel miles here. After the beautiful village of Monster you drive through the Westduinen and the Westduinpark. In these two almost contiguous nature reserves you will find dense forests, open plains, steep slopes and viewpoints that rise more than 30 meters above sea level. Ideal for a day of relaxation.
