Around Sint-Margriete you cycle through the Meetjeslands creek area: a true cycling gem. You also drive through the vast surroundings of Aardenburg and Oostburg.
Saint Margriete
You start this route at a particularly beautiful place: the historic Market in IJzendijke. In this village you can visit Museum Het Bolwerk, where you will learn more about the State-Spanish lines. Around Sint-Margriete you drive through the Meetjeslands creek area: a landscape with many creeks and ponds that have been created by floods over the centuries. Step off for a moment to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility.
Big Hole
After you have driven a bit along the leafy Leopold Canal, it is time to charge the battery. That's a good thing, because at Artisan Restaurant-Lunch-Tearoom you are welcome for a delicious meal. You cross the canal, after which you drive through the Dutch polders. You will pass the Groote Gat, a nature reserve that consists of a creek, moist and salty grass avenues, reed collars and shrubs.
