Description
Flevoland has beautiful new nature reserves. This route takes you through Boswachterij Spijk, among other things. In the Gelderse Vallei you drive through a vast landscape.
Gelderland Valley
Here you drive on car-free roads through a landscape of fields and meadows. Every now and then you pass a beautiful old farm. You will also pass Huize Schouwenburg, this country estate has been inhabited by various noble families over the centuries. The house is now privately owned.
Reve-Abbert
Where Flevoland is now located, the Zuiderzee once flowed. Yet the sea was not always there: in prehistoric times there was already a gigantic coniferous forest here! A new forest was planted on the edge of the Drontermeer in the 1960s: Boswachterij Reve-Abbert. Here you drive through a beautiful mix of deciduous and coniferous trees. You can also find many types of mushrooms and special ferns there. Finally, you pass through Boswachterij Spijk: another beautiful nature reserve!
