Harderwijk, Zeewolde and the Flevopolder

Harderwijk is a beautiful Hanseatic town on the Wolderwijd. You will also pass through Zeewolde and enjoy the silence in the Flevopolder.

Harderbroek
The route starts at the edge of the Hoge Vaartbos. You drive along the Knardijk along the rippling water of the Wolderwijd. On the left you look out over the Harderbroek. In this nature reserve, extensive reed fields, rugged swamps, grasslands and young primeval forest alternate. In the spring, the many flowering plants create a carpet of blossoms over the area. A white-tailed eagle regularly comes to forage, you might spot it!

Flevoland
Harderwijk was once located on the turbulent Zuiderzee. These were the days when Harderwijk benefited from the trade brought by the Hanseatic League. In the city center you will still find some historic buildings from that period. And of course plenty of fun. Just before Ermelo you can get off at't Zomernest for a refreshing stopover, before taking the bicycle ferry to Zeewolde. In the polders you can enjoy the characteristic wide landscape of Flevoland, laid out in straight plots.
