The border area of Zeeland Flanders and Belgium is a region with wonderful names. How about Pyramide, Mollekot, Muizenhol and - the namesake of this route - Virgin of Ghent. De Virgin was a café on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium and is now a hamlet, through which the national border runs straight through. This cycle route has many charms. Biervliet and IJzendijke, old and new polders, and in Belgium cobblestone strips and a tranquil waterway: the Leopold Canal.
