Theodore Roosevelt Route

The ancestors of former American presidents Theodore, Franklin Delano and his wife Eleanor Roosevelt come from Oud-Vossemeer. This is where this beautiful route starts and ends, which largely runs along the beautiful Oosterschelde. This route also passes through polders where family of the former 'Van Rosevelts' had land and/or farms. Interesting sights at the start and end locations include the Old Steam Pumping Station in Oud Vosseemeer, the Roosevelt Information Centre (located in the Ambachtsherenhuis), the Four Freedoms monument, the former Huize Roosevelt, the old Blacksmith's Clock, the Dutch Reformed Church and the De Jager mill.
