Theodore Roosevelt Trail

The ancestors of the former presidents of America Theodore, Franklin Delano and his wife Eleanor Roosevelt come from Oud-Vossemeer. This is where this beautiful route begins and ends, which largely goes along the beautiful Oosterschelde. This route also passes through polders where relatives of the former 'Van Rosevelts' had land and/or farms. Interesting sights at the start and end locations include the Old Steam Pumping Station in Oud Vosseemeer, the Roosevelt Information Center (located in the Ambachtsherenhuis), the Four Freedoms monument, the former Roosevelt House, the old Smidsklokje, the NH church and mill The hunter.
