Saint George's Church
Today you start in Suawoude. You will immediately pass such a typically beautiful and old Frisian church: the twelfth-century Sint-Georgiuskerk. From here you walk north. You dive into the beautiful little road into the Singel, where you suddenly see alpacas in the meadows. Something different than cows! The Zomerweg leads you along a beautiful canal into Hardegarijp.

Wide Ee
Via a shortcut over a partly unpaved road you will arrive at the Wijde Ee (or Wide Ie) near Bergum. Not as well known as the Bergumermeer, but also very beautiful. It is connected to other canals and lakes in the area and this passage ensured that nearby Bergum or Burgum could develop its wealth. Now you often see pleasure boats there, always a beautiful sight. Before you know it you'll be back in Suawoude, or Suwâld.
