Prunje
After a cup of coffee on the sun-drenched Paviljoen Duinzigt, in the middle of the dunes of Westenschouwen, you set off. From the dike along National Park Oosterschelde you have a beautiful view over the water. You drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature thanks to the'Tureluur\\\' Plan, which is now a true bird paradise. So it's worth getting off and grabbing the binoculars!
Burgh-Haamstede
Then you drive through the wide polders. Get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the tranquility. You drive through Brouwershaven, where you will find many beautiful monuments within the fortress walls. A nice place to enjoy a terrace, just like Renesse. Then you discover Burgh-Haamstede. Burgh originated around a ring rampart that was raised at the end of the ninth century against robbery Normans. In Haamstede you can see Slot Haamstede here, a national monument from the thirteenth century.
