Walking route Wedde

From Wedde you can take a varied walk through the village itself and the surrounding area. Ideal to relax for a day.

Church of Wedde
You pass the Church of Wedde, a modest building that nevertheless dates from the thirteenth century. Some lords of the Wedderburcht are buried there. You walk into the countryside on the old Kerkepad between Wedderveer and Wedde. While you walk along fields and meadows, you can chat with your fellow hikers at your leisure.

Wedderbergen
You pass the Jeudenkolke on the right side of the path. The story goes that a Jewish resident once drowned in this vortex, because his stampeding horses ran into it with carriage and all. Then you walk through the Wedderbergen. A wooded nature reserve that lies along the Weddermeer and the Westerwoldsche Aa. You walk back to Wedde through the wide countryside.
