Hollandsche Rading - Utrecht Overvecht via Ruigenhoek

This route starts at the NS station Hollandsche Rading and goes through open polder landscape to NS station Utrecht Overvecht. The route is quite straight forward, but the wide view makes up for a lot in my opinion. For example, I find it very special that you can see the skyline of Utrecht from quite a distance. In particular, the Dom tower and the new town hall near the central station are nice eye-catchers. The last part of the walk takes you through the Ruigenhoek recreational area with a real Fort and a former trench. Then you walk through the Blauwkapel with old buildings with character, a church and another fort. Finally, you walk parallel to the railway line in a park-like environment to the Utrecht Overvecht terminus.
