Description
On Flevoland it is wonderful to get a breath of fresh air in the polders. You will also find beautiful nature reserves here, such as the Harderbos.
Low Vaartbos
First you row your legs warm in the green landscaped Lelystad. You drive out of the city along the Gelderse Vaart, after which you drive into the polders along the edge of the Lage Vaartbos. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here, ideal to relax.
Harderbos
Just past junction 23, on the dike along Lake Veluwe, you will see the Monument to Fine People. This concrete star, designed by Domenique Himmelsbach de Vries, is five meters high and has two thumbs pointing upwards. You have a beautiful view of the water along the Veluwemeer. The Harderbos is a green oasis. The first poplars were planted here in 1968, now it looks like a primeval forest.
