Tour De Rijp, Jisp and Zaan

This route takes you through the Beemster world heritage site. The country houses of the Amsterdam regents used to stand along the Volgerweg. Fortunately, a number of them have been preserved and that makes cycling along this road a pleasure. From Purmerend you continue the road through rural Jisp, Wormer and Oost-Knollendam. Along the way there is the opportunity to buy regional products from the farmers at various places. Once you arrive in Spijkerboor, take the bicycle ferry (note: opening times and costs) and from here you return to the beautiful historic center of De Rijp.
