Description

This cycling tour takes you along the North Holland Canal, past the Beemster world heritage site. Along this dike you can see 3 of the 5 forts of the Beemster, which are part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam and therefore a World Heritage site. Along the way you can use the Jan Hop bicycle ferry (note: opening hours and costs apply). In the Schermer you will become acquainted with the old land of these former lakes and conclude with a visit to the historic former fishing village of De Rijp.
