Description
First, grab a cup of coffee at BRASA Beemster in Middenbeemster, and then hop on your bike. This route takes you past the most beautiful and historic farms in the Beemster World Heritage Site. At junction 60, you'll have a magnificent view of Fort Spijkerboor, one of the forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. In the former fishing village of De Rijp, history has been beautifully preserved, a prime example of which is the old Town Hall. Cycle through polder landscapes and look out over the old and new land of the Schermer and Beemster rivers. Vast and beautiful in all seasons. Along the way, you can visit the De Eenhoorn farmhouse, the Rustenhove estate - a reminder of a glorious time, and the smallest house in Schermerhorn.
