Join us on an exploration of De Drentsche Aa National Park, the best preserved stream and esdorp landscape in Western Europe. All around you you see beautiful old Saxon farms.
National Park
You start in the middle of De Drentsche Aa National Park. The characteristic identity of this 150-year-old esdorp landscape has been beautifully preserved.
Esdorpjes
There are many beautiful villages on the program today. You immediately cycle through Rolde and a little later you discover the nice Andere and Gasteren. Saxon farms around the village green, fields on the rounded ash trees and hay fields in the lower stream valley: this is truly an authentic landscape. At the northern point of the national park you cycle through the Schipborgsediep stream valley, as the Drentsche Aa is called here. You will also encounter heather along the way.
