Description
Go on an exploration of De Drentsche Aa National Park, the best-preserved stream and esdorp landscape in Western Europe. You can see beautiful old Saxon farms all around you.
National Park
You start in the middle of National Park De Drentsche Aa. The characteristic identity of this 150-year-old esdorp landscape has been beautifully preserved.
Es villages
There are a lot of beautiful esdorpen on the program today. Immediately you cycle through Rolde and a little later you discover the nice Anderen and Gasteren. Saxon farms around the village green, fields on the bulbous ash trees and meadows in the lower brook valley: this is a truly authentic landscape. In the northern tip of the national park you cycle through the stream valley of the Schipborgsediep, as the Drentsche Aa is called here. You will also encounter heather along the way.
