Beautiful landscapes and sights
The starting point of this route is at the sources of the River Werra in the Thuringian Forest. Via Hildburghausen you cycle to the monastery Veßra. The half-timbered houses of the Hennebergisch museum are beautiful to admire along the way. The route takes you past the theater city of Meiningen and Walldorf to Bad Salzungen. Impressive remains of the salt mine as well as the untouched nature make your next stage to Hörschel a true experience. It is worth making a small detour from here to Eisenach via the Hercules-Wartburg cycle route with a distant view of the Creuzburg, which towers high above the half-timbered town of the same name.

The romantic Werra Valley
From the historic sandstone bridge you reach the Boomkronenpad in Hainich National Park via the yellow cycle route.
