The unique charm of Volendam is best discovered with a walk. This route takes you along the picturesque harbour.
Stolpkerk
At Paviljoen Smit-Bokkum you can enjoy something tasty before you set off. The first part of the route leads you through a beautifully landscaped neighborhood of Volendam. Let your legs loose and chat with your fellow walker(s). You will pass the football stadium of FC Volendam, also known as The Other Orange. At the Zuideinde you will pass the Stolphoevekerkje from 1658, the oldest and best preserved stolp church in the Netherlands.
Eel sound
There is a pleasant atmosphere in the harbor of Volendam. You will also find beautiful buildings, such as a simple wooden bell chair with a wedding bell from 1771. The building of the Cooperative Visafslag St. Vincentius is a monument from 1934. Hotel Spaander dates from 1881: guests such as Kaiser Wilhelm II, Elisabeth Taylor and Muhammad Ali. The beautiful Saint Vincent Church was built in 1860. At the end of your route you can visit the Eel Sound Museum.
